Our graduate student received Shigeyoshi Matsumae Award 2013.
Mr. Shun Ito (M2) received Shigeyoshi Matsumae Award 2013 on his distinguished achievement in the synthesis of selenocysteine derivatives. Last summer, he attended the 12th International Conference on the Chemistry of Selenium and Tellurium (ICCST-12), which was held in Cardiff UK, and was selected as a Poster Award presenter. ICCST is held every three years, and many active researchers in organoselenium and tellurium chemistry gathers together there from the world. From our laboratory four graduate students attended ICCST-12 last summer. Shun reported the novel efficient preparation methods of selenocysteine derivatives and their applications as glutathione peroxidase mimics.
